Is membership restricted to African Americans?
Potential members should complete the membership application, and send it back to the book club electronically. At this time, membership is only open to women that are interested in reading books written by African American authors. Please send the application and comments to: asisbookclub@yahoo.com
How many members do you accept?
Membership may vary but the ASiS Book Club has a 15 member limit. However, if there is enough interest we will consider expanding membership to another branch of our book club.
What are your dues and when do you spend them?
At this time, membership dues are $50 per year, and are used to defray the cost of book club events.
How long does it take to become a membership?
Membership is based on invitation and reponses to application
questions. So a potential member will get a phone call from the book club president if membership is extended to them.
How can I participate in events without being a member?
From time to time, ASiS Book Club will host events that are open to non-members but meetings are for adult members only.
Does ASiS Book Club host meetings with authors that I can attend as a non-member?
Non-members are invited to join ASiS Book Club members for special meetings held under the auspices of our "Meet-N-Greet" series. These are meetings in which ASiS Book Club
hosts book readings, signings and discussions with Authors. If you're interested in the Meet-N-Greets, you may write
the book club to request to be added to our mailing list.
